Brandt McDonald began his career in the financial services industry with Morgan Keegan & Company in 1989. He then transitioned his financial advisor practice to Morgan Stanley/Dean Witter where he took on the additional role of Syndicate Coordinator, working closely with the investment banking group. In 1998, he became an independent financial advisor and founded the firm McDonald, Barranco & Hagen Wealth Management, an independent branch office of LPL Financial, member FINRA/SIPC. The firm manages and advises on over 500 Million dollars in assets nationally for individuals and institutions.

In his current practice, Brandt combines his extensive knowledge with a desire to provide comprehensive wealth management services that help families develop purpose for their wealth. In addition to serving high net worth clients (athletes, executives, business owners, institutions), Brandt oversees the firm’s global allocations and acts as the branch manager. His Series 7, Series 8, Series 51, and Series 63 registrations are held with LPL Financial.

Brandt McDonald is a sought after speaker and commentator on financial markets and global economics, with frequent media appearances on WSFA 12 News and a local radio show, Happy Hour with Greg Budell, produced by News Talk 93.1 FM. His expertise is also highlighted on the WSFA show “Time of Your Life,” where Brandt provides important information for Baby Boomers on his segment called “Making Cents.”

Brandt holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Auburn University and attended the Wharton Executive Education - Wealth Management Series through the Wharton School of Business. He sits on the Board of Directors for New Beginnings, a non-profit prison ministry program designed to reduce recidivism and help inmates reintegrate into society. He is also an active board member of The Bruce Pearl Family Foundation. Brandt also devotes time to the Hudson Family Foundation.

Brandt was born and raised in Montgomery, Alabama and still resides in the area. Away from the office, he enjoys fishing, golf and traveling in addition to the study of history and global economics.
